To give artistic expression a prominent place. To ensure that technical performance does not overshadow artistic expression.
Ori Tahiti competitions have become a demonstration of technique and complex acrobatics.
In addition to traditional techniques, this requires obvious strength and physical abilities. This is one of the evolutions of 'Ori Tahiti, and whether we like it or not, it's a reality.
Performance is as impressive in all forms of artistic expression as it is in sports.
Nevertheless, for the Heiva Digital team, dance remains an art in which the transmission of emotion remains a fundamental aspect, one of the foundations of dance practice. Being on stage is always about giving... It's also about receiving.
But above all, it's about giving and transmitting the emotion of gesture, the emotion of movement, which transports the spectator into another world, for the glimpse of a moment. It is the "give & get"attitude.
So, for the third time, we have chosen to propose two juries: a technical jury made up of three individuals who are qualified to judge dance techniques. This jury will score dance technique only and, for Aparima, the correspondence between choreography and text. These judges are Manouche Lehartel, Jean Marie Biret and Erena U'ura, who has been teaching at the Polynesian Conservatory of Art for over twenty years.
The second jury is made up of non-dancing artists, Teiva LC, and Fabien Dinard, director of the Polynesian Conservatory of Art. This jury will only score emotional transmission, as well as the correspondence between the text of the song and the interpretation offered by the dancers in the Aparima / Mehura category. Jury No. 2 is responsible for scoring artistic expression independently of technical performance.
